inspirations + aspirations 12.11

The purpose in bringing you inspirations + aspirations is to open my home to you a little more.

These inspirations share what has inspired my Christmas decor this season. But more than the inspirations, I love the aspirations. How can you grow and evolve if you don't know what you're growing toward? I love having these mental images of the "someday" decor, the ideas for next year, the "wouldn't it be lovely" design choices that I'm smitten with, just not ready to make quite yet.

There's always next year, right? But for now I'll just turn up my new favorite Christmas song and settle into some holiday-infused decor dreaming. *deep breath*

I hope this sparks your creative juices and encourages you to push your decor from the routine year-to-year rut we all seem to succumb to. But most of all I hope it encourages you to invite your loved ones into your home during this joyous season! Merry merry, friends.

quick fixes

#1

Move things around! Sometimes your space is just stale and needs variation. Figure out another way for the puzzle pieces to fit together.

#2

Bring in some greenery or fresh flowers. Guaranteed to bring a little more life to any space.

#3

Open up your blinds! Natural light restores a space like none other. Short supply of windows? Increase your own lighting with bright and effective lamps.
